Privacy policy

What CheckAero stores, what it never stores, and how to get your data removed.

Public records we show

For aircraft we show the owner name only when the registrant is a corporation, LLC or government body. Names of individual owners, co-owners and partnerships are not stored in our database at all. Owners who asked the FAA to withhold their name and address under 49 U.S.C. 44114(b) arrive without them, and we do not fill them in from anywhere else. For both the FAA and FCC records we show city and state, never street addresses, ZIP codes, phone numbers, email addresses or FCC registration numbers (FRN).

Pilot and airman records

The pilot lookup uses the FAA Airmen Certification releasable file, which by law contains only airmen who did not ask the FAA to withhold their data. We show name, city, state, certificates, ratings and medical class and dates, never street addresses or ZIP codes. These pages are excluded from search engines. To have a record hidden, write to [email protected].

Cookies and analytics

CheckAero uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are used. Google Analytics sets its own cookies and receives your IP address, browser and the pages you open; see how Google uses this data. We run no advertising scripts, and fonts are served from our own server. Our web server keeps standard access logs (time, page, IP address, browser) for security and rate limiting; query strings are not written to those logs.

Corrections and removal

Records change only when the FAA or FCC data changes. To ask us to hide a record, write to [email protected].
