SOCATA aircraft in the FAA registry

SOCATA (Société de Construction d'Avions de Tourisme et d'Affaires) was a French manufacturer of general aviation aircraft, known for piston-engine business planes and training aircraft. The company operated from Tarbes, France, and was later acquired by DAHER, which retired the SOCATA name in 2015.

As of October 16, 2026, the FAA registry lists 1,058 aircraft under the manufacturer name "SOCATA." These registrations represent 1,045 valid entries across 14 distinct models. The fleet consists mainly of fixed-wing, single-engine aircraft. The majority are turboprops (658), with the remainder using reciprocating engines (400). Most of these aircraft were manufactured between 1984 and 2018, with half built in 2006 or earlier.

The TBM 700 dominates the registry with 644 registered units. Built between 1991 and 2017, this seven-seat model is followed by the TB-20 TRINIDAD (175 units, 1984–2002), the TB 10 (53 units, 1979–1991), and the TB21 (50 units, 1985–2005). Other notable models include the TB 30 EPSILON (36 units) and the TB 9 TAMPICO (34 units).

Geographically, California holds the highest number of registrations with 99 aircraft, followed by Delaware (94) and Texas (91). The vast majority (980) hold standard airworthiness certificates, while 36 are classified as experimental.

Type certificate data sheets (TCDS) define the technical standards for these registered SOCATA aircraft. TCDS A60EU, held by Daher Aircraft SAS, covers the TBM 700. TCDS A51EU, held by Daher Aerospace, applies to the TB 10 and TB21 models. Each model page provides specifications and links to the relevant type certificate data sheet, while every individual aircraft has a unique registration record by N-number.
