Lockheed aircraft in the FAA registry

The Lockheed Corporation was an American aerospace manufacturer founded in 1926. Its founder, Allan Lockheed, had earlier established the Loughead Aircraft Manufacturing Company, which operated from 1912 to 1920. The corporation merged with Martin Marietta in 1995 to form Lockheed Martin.

As of October 16, 2026, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) registry lists 197 aircraft under the manufacturer name "LOCKHEED". These registrations represent 63 distinct models. One hundred ninety-six of these registrations are currently valid. The fleet spans a wide operational history, with most aircraft built between 1933 and 1991. Half of the registered aircraft were constructed in 1955 or earlier.

The registered fleet consists primarily of fixed-wing aircraft. There are 155 multi-engine models and 42 single-engine models. Powerplants vary significantly across the registry. Reciprocating engines power 84 aircraft, while turboprops account for 64. Turbojet engines are found on 43 aircraft, and four aircraft use turbofan engines. Airworthiness classifications include 53 standard, 48 experimental, and 36 restricted aircraft.

Geographic distribution shows the highest concentration in Florida with 33 registrations, followed by California with 30, and Texas with 22. The most numerous registered model is the 12A, with 15 aircraft built between 1936 and 1941. These models seat up to eight passengers. The PV-2 follows with 14 aircraft, built from 1940 to 1964, seating ten people. The P3B also has 14 registered aircraft with a capacity for 12 seats.

Other significant models include the T-33A with 12 aircraft (built 1950–1958), the 18-56 with 10 aircraft (built 1942–1952), and the C-130A with 9 aircraft (built 1954–1957). Each model has its own page with specifications and the type certificate data sheet (TCDS). Every aircraft has a registration record by N-number. For example, TCDS TC 616, held by Lockheed Aircraft Corporation, covers the 12A model. TCDS T00006LA, held by United Aeronautical Corporation, covers the P3B model.
