Aérospatiale aircraft in the FAA registry

Aérospatiale was a French state-owned aerospace corporation founded in 1970 through the merger of Nord Aviation, SEREB, and Sud Aviation. It became Europe's largest general aeronautics manufacturer and a leading exporter, producing civilian and military aircraft, helicopters, and satellites. The company played a key role in major programs like the Concorde supersonic airliner and the Airbus A300.

As of October 16, 2026, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) registry lists 178 aircraft under the manufacturer name "AEROSPATIALE." These registrations represent 32 distinct models, with 175 currently valid. The fleet is heavily dominated by rotorcraft, which account for 167 of the registered aircraft. Fixed-wing aircraft make up the remainder, with nine multi-engine and two single-engine planes. Most of these aircraft were built between 1972 and 1999, with half constructed in 1983 or earlier.

The most common registered models are the AS350 B2 ECUREUIL, with 21 aircraft built between 1983 and 1996, and the SA341G GAZELLE, with 20 units built from 1972 to 1978. Other notable models include the SA315B (18 aircraft, built 1972–1982), the AS350BA (18 aircraft, built 1979–1994), and the AS350B (13 aircraft, built 1978–1990). The AS350B2 also has 11 registered units, built between 1979 and 1994.

Powerplants for this fleet are primarily turboshaft engines, found in 164 aircraft. Twelve aircraft use turboprop engines, and two use reciprocating engines. In terms of airworthiness, 125 aircraft hold a standard class rating, 15 are experimental, and five have multiple classifications.

Geographically, Delaware holds the most registrations with 19 aircraft, followed by Nevada with 17, and Texas with 11. For detailed specifications, each model page provides the Type Certificate Data Sheet (TCDS). For example, TCDS H9EU, held by Airbus Helicopters, covers the AS350BA and AS350B models. Every registered aircraft has a unique N-number record available for lookup.
