Aeronca aircraft in the FAA registry

Aeronca, contracted from Aeronautical Corporation of America, is a US manufacturer located in Middletown, Ohio. From 1928 to 1951, the company was a major producer of general aviation aircraft and produced engines for some early designs. Today, it is a division of Magellan Aerospace, producing components at the same location adjacent to Middletown's Hook Field Municipal Airport.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) lists aircraft under the registry manufacturer name "AERONCA". As of 2026-10-16, there are 3,953 registered Aeronca aircraft in the FAA registry. These represent 65 distinct models, with 3,882 valid registrations. Nearly all are fixed-wing, single-engine aircraft powered by reciprocating engines. The vast majority hold an airworthiness class of standard (3,712), while 57 are classified as multiple.

Most of these aircraft were built between 1936 and 1956. Half of them were built in 1946 or earlier. The most registered models are the 7AC with 1,878 aircraft, built from 1945 to 1947. The 11AC follows with 603 aircraft, built from 1946 to 1947.
