Probable cause
The pilot's failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll.
NTSB analysis
The pilot reported that, during the landing roll out on a remote gravel bar, the airplane was not properly aligned with the landing site. The pilot attempted to correct the alignment; however, the airplane ground looped. The airplane subsequently nosed over and came to rest inverted, which resulted in substantial damage to the left wing and rudder. The pilot reported that there were no preaccident mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
